Car history:
69 vette that was under a frame off restoration. It is a real tuxedo black on black 427/390hp coupe. I have the tank sticker, original motor, trans, and reat end. The frame has no rust and was dipped and powder coated 12yrs ago when i bought it. it has F-41 rear suspension. The chassis was completly redone by the previous owner. When the motor was redone, an idiot decked the block taking the serial number off. This is the block that came with this car, i was going to have it restamped but didn't want any questionable doubts about the authanticity of the block if it wasnt done properly. I had considererd having the police authenticate the block with there process they use to ID stolen vehicals that have had there serial numbers ground off. the serial number is on the trans. The original body had a rotten bird cage, so it was disgarded. i purchased the body you see in the pictures from another idiot who misrepresented it to me from Riodoso New Mexico. I picked it up in the middle of the nite and didn't see until i was long gone that two beautiful front and rear halfs where put togather to make the body you see. it needs to be welded in the t-top section (see pics). the body is on the frame and fits perfect. whomever did the work on the body did an excellant job, for what that's worth. I have the complete original interior excluding carpet and seats. I have the original removable rear window, no windshield. I have an extra set of doors with the guts and glass in them that go with the car. in addition to what you see in the pics i have alot of liitle things that will go with the car as well. the engine was redone 12 yrs ago, its been bored 030 over, balanced, a comp cam, i dont remember all the specs its been so long ago. i went nuts on the heads with the port and polishing and gasket matched the Air Gap manifold. this engine will easily put out 500hp. I don't have the steering column, the rear half shafts or steering linkage, so its tough to roll around. i have a lot of photos of the car as it was being redone by the privious owner that goes with the car as well. Trim plate codes were 989 and 400+J04 (not very early model). The trim plate is bogus. Answer from the owner: the car is coming from Shelby Twp Michigan. I posted the tag to my '71 by mistake. I have the correct '69 tag B04 ZQ4 900. The yellow starts at 5300-5600, red goes from 5600-7000. And yes, the serial number was decked off the block by the machine shop that did the engine. It is the original block for this car without any doubt. I was going to have it restamped, but I don't trust anybody anymore after what I've already had to deal with. The new owner can have that done.
